Both sides have to want peace.
Otherwise, you are a victim.

See Ukraine.

Does Iran want world peace?
Honest question.

They have 60% enriched uranium. A ballistic missile program. And are the world's leading exporter of terrorism.

Iranian IEDs may have harmed more US troops in the middle east than any other country (and we were not bombing Iran at that time. Nor were we pursuing engagement against enemy combatants who fled across national borders to hide behind Iranian sovereignty).

GeauxZone90I feel like the people who post anti war shite on this board are classified as un American.

Not at all. It’s the posters such as yourself that are hopeful for the operation to fail just so Trump can be pummeled. That is absurd and un-American. I want peace but see reasoning of why this makes sense and I want complete success now that we are engaged. You hope for complete failure and that is a problem.

I try to give most opinions the benefit of the doubt, but your perfectly rational counterpoints are what most of the "anti-war" viewpoints fail to logically consider. Pros vs cons, risks vs benefits. They stress the costs, in lives and dollars, of engaging in this conflict. They almost never thoroughly explore the costs, in lives and dollars, of doing nothing. Usually just a cursory wave of the hand; "That would never happen if we'd left them alone".

They refuse to acknowledge that, over the last 50 years, politicians and analysts of virtually every persuasion have condemned the Islamic regime at one time or another. Not all at the same time of course, because that's not how politics (and analysis) works. Nevertheless, it's been a longstanding known problem that has never been addressed while it steadily grew bigger.

Finally, with assistance from Russian and China, the Islamic regime has reached a level of strength (military power combined with foreign militia and terrrorists groups) that poses a real threat to global energy and thus stability. They''ve been branching out beyond the middle east to other key places around the world, like Venezuela. They incite conflict wherever they have influence. Even with conventional weapons, they are a serious risk; with nukes they'd be a critical risk that might be uncontrollable short of nuclear war. Nothing in the regime's history suggests that could be safely ignored forever. It may have already been ignored for too long.

Give him and his friends a bunch of Ukrainian FPV suicide drones and all of those places would vanish in a discrete cloud of dust.

Saudi Arabia is weighing entry into the war against the Islamic Republic of Iran amid rapidly escalating regional conflict.

The US never should have gotten involved without Saudi being fully “in” the war. Saudi and the gulf want their neighborhood bully gone? Then join. Fully.

Hopefully the house of Saud is the next despot to fall after Iran.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar says Iran has given approval for 20 Pakistani-flagged Ships to pass the Strait of Hormuz, a move he described as a “harbinger of peace”. Under the arrangement, Iran will allow two Pakistani-flagged ships to cross the critical waterway each day, said Dar. “This positive announcement marks a meaningful step toward peace and will strengthen our collective efforts in that direction,” he said. In recent weeks, Iran had reported already allowed the transit of several vessels linked to Pakistan, which is helping mediate talks between Washington and Tehran.

Maybe some good news on an end.

On the other hand. Iran is negotiating nation by nation shipping/trade deals?

Let’s not forget the House of Saud was a whisker from falling so they paid off their citizens during Arab Spring.
