Yes this was always the most interesting part of the night. Most of the governorships were won during GOP's best recent year(2010) so they were always the most venerable.
Yeah, 2010 was a big one for them, but they still made gains in 2012 if I recall correctly.

So which important races to pay attention to in 5 minutes?

As I look at the country some of the more intriguing races are the close gubernatorial races. The fact that Dems are pushing back a bit against a wave of Republican control in this area is interesting and could tell us something about 2016 and beyond.
All it shows is that the pendulum swings the other way from who has been in control.
GOP has had Governorships while Dems controlled most national office. Now Dems are trending toward gaining Governorships and GOP is gaining in National Office.
Basically people get tired of whoever is in control and vote opposite every 4-6 years. State politics have little bearing on national politics

MSNBC is making it seem like the Democrats came out to vote in higher than expected numbers.

Well, Congress is not a national office, that would be the Presidency. This tells me more than just a pendulum swing because I don't think its that simple.

Might have to switch away from CNN. The intense pounding music playing on constant loop is distracting.

You must hate the weather channel during severe weather/hurricanes.. I actually have their alert music as my ringtone.. So I'm sure you'd hate that more..

Yea GOP +1 in 2012..so it sets up good for 2016.

7:58 PM Manchester Looks Good for Shaheen
Manchester, New Hampshire’s largest city, has 67 percent of its precincts reporting. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen is leading in Manchester by a little over 6 percentage points. She won the city by a similar margin in 2008. Shaheen won statewide by a little over 6 percentage points then.
