FDA will slow play this one for Pfizer.

It’s traditional only in the sense that it doesn’t have any genetic material in it. It’s similar to the technology used in the flu vaccine, a recombinant protein subunit vaccine. It’s still a neutralizing vaccine (leaky) targeting the spike protein only. Where it differs from Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J is that your body doesn’t have to manufacture the spike protein. It’s produced and purified in moth cells.
Novavax has, I believe, 14 strands of the spike protein attached to a lipid nanoparticle. It uses Matrix-M made from saponin form the soapbark tree as it’s adjuvant to increase the immune response. Early phase 3 data shows it to be 90.3% effective overall and 100% effective against moderate and severe disease.
I hoped that Novartis would take this a step farther and incorporate other Covid capsular proteins along with the spike protein, thereby inducing immunity to multiple sites on the virus rather than one site. In essence that would be more like a VLP, viral like particle similar to HPV and Hep B vaccines, that could yield a response more like natural immunity.
Unfortunately, the MSM created such a panic at the beginning of the pandemic that there was tremendous pressure to get the quickest fix. In hind sight, this may have been Fauci’s plan all along, especially since it’s known he owns patents with Moderna. Quick fix does not equate to the best fix.
Also, Novavax has gone through more of a normal, lengthy process for vaccine approval. Novartis does not appear to be hiding anything in its side effects profile.
Here are a couple of easy read articles:
