The way to trim the fat.. get rid of everybody in shock and awe and rebuild it back up. The real legit ones who are dedicated and loved their jobs will reapply
Are you insane? Real question.

quote:No, they aren't. I know some VERY dedicated workers. Good folks, who do a good job. The problem is, unlike the private sector, "good enough for government work" is a thing, all too often. Where folks can slack off, take it easy, work 20 hrs/week and get paid for 40 hrs/week, some will take advantage. Some won't. The challenge for DOGE is separating the wheat from the chaff.

ATC is an arena where "good enough for government work" can cost lives. So tolerance for mediocrity is nonexistent there (hopefully). I can relate.

Forestry services, NRCS, Game Wardens, Wildlife and Fisheries, etc
All need to be gutted for bs red tape bureaucracy, but other than that, they are hard working folks

Dept of Gov Efficiency asks for a redundant Weekly activities Report as if this isn’t already required by those that work for the FED…

I have real issues with the 96% who collect full salary and benefits while not actually going to work, and then howl when told they have to. Or the ones who think it's outrageous to have to give a brief job description. The real workers you speak of should stand up and speak up about the ones abusing the system.

I work for the Veteran’s Health Administration. I am not worried about my position, I already received the essential position list, meaning those positions not affected. I am 100% on board with trimming the fat. A walk around the basement and administration portion of any VA hospital will tell you all you need to know.
