My Uncle made a fortune building furniture then trucking it up North in the late 40’s through 60’s and selling it up in Rochester NY.
North Carolina still makes the best stuff!

Is this more due to the hurricane than any global economics?
Mostly global. But I'm sure some Hurricane Helene victims that lost everything purchased some new Timberlake furniture.

Anti Americans like rog
It's good for Americans who need to buy furniture? They had a less expensive alternative that's now gone. It's not difficult to see how it's good for the greedy company, but how is it good for the consumer?

That's great. Bob Timberlake furniture is very well made and lasts for decades

Completely off topic, but I inherited my kitchen table from grandparents. Was handmade by a small furniture making business in SoCal in 1947. Solid maple and beautiful to this day. First thing my grandparents bought when Grandpa returned from the war and they got married.
That sounds lovely.. neither of our parents nor any of our grandparents had anything nice and solid like that to hand down. It is pretty neat you've got that! Sentimental value **and** quality, plus I'm sure it's beautiful too!
