The people of Iran want freedom more than the people of Iraq and Afghanistan ever did. They seem to be willing to work for it. The people of Iraq wanted us to do all the hard work for them. The Afghans never wanted freedom or democracy in the first place I don’t think. Just seems like in this case the Iranian people are willing to put in the hard work. That’s one thing we never had working for us before.
It's not going to work here either.

Then there is no plan. You aren’t going to establish a pro-US government in Iran without troops.
Lindsey Graham knows this and I guarantee he’s planning on troops being there for a decade.
This war is Graham’s Mona Lisa.

Even if a majority does want that, a sizeable population does not...and it would become the beacon for all radical Shias worldwide.
The best is people demanding some alternate plan to achieve the goal, ignoring how the ME is a quagmire without those options.
That's why you don't start destabilizing wars in the ME.

Lyndsey is planning?
Like what's he planning?

It may not. But I think out of all the countries we have “liberated” over the years. I think the people of Iran seem to actually want to work and fight for freedom and democracy instead of the U.S. dragging them to freedom and democracy.

No one seems to care about the externalities, but if this becomes explicitly sectarian or even takes on a sub-national character, that could trigger the entrance of militias across the region. One scenario would be something like the entrance of the Kurds as a distinct group into the conflict causes civil conflict in Iraq again, which could lead to a streamlining of the interests of Iraqi PMF Shia militias and the Iranian state. So far, there has been some tension between the two because as of yet, the war has not taken on an overtly religious character. Those Shia militias are organized along ethnic lines but are also seemingly only moved by danger to Shia areas thus they are less concerned with threats that might be seen as motivated by nationalism or national identity.
All of this gets complicated quickly, if for example, Sunni Kurds try to annex a historically Shia region.

The pompous condescending stance, assumed law careers, and prodigious posting activity that you and Hank both share is actually amazing. First, I wonder how anyone can assume a position of knowing all in the world - and second, I wonder with the time invested on this message board, how do you offer service to clients - and do they know that you are an obsessive poster on a political message board?

I've been explaining this since day 1

I keep asking why a military operation wouldn’t hand all its plan over to its enemy and all I get our ad hom attacks.
I mean what could the negative effects of telegraphing where you’re going and what you’re doing next when 77m people have put you in charge of the nation be.
I’m a guy with an internet connection and a keyboard and I think it would be fine to expose the people you are commanding to harms way.
I’ve asked this several different times over basic the same subject matter. A bunch of people responded but they really didn’t set me straight they just did ad hom attacks.
I haven’t gotten enough attention for looking like a buffoon in the other 4000 posts I’ve made today, and since nobody in actual life cares to interact with me because I act this obtuse in person as well, I think I’ll ask the same question all over again
