Off Topic:

I've been around here since 2005 (not a prolific poster, but been here a while) and I had no clue you had muscular dystrophy.

Props to you for maintaining your since of humor about the disease. The username and profile pic are hilarious in light of it.

ETA: frick the NFL!

What, no "Swing Low Sweet Chariot"? "Amazing Grace"? Why did they pick the boring one

This sounds like division and not unification.

I am obviously very naive

When I hear something like this the only thing I can think of is that there are a lot of white people that really have never met black people before and a lot of black people that have never met a white person before

It’s like people are promoting segregation at this point. Like races cannot or will not get along. It makes me cringe. It just seems like they are patronizing my friends, coworkers, people I went to school with. It’s just embarrassing to everybody. It’s hard to explain

"We Shall Overcome" was a resilient posture stating the endurance required to effect change.

Now it means the mobbing hoardes and violent looters will overwhelm the surburban fences and overcome the defenseless families. Regrettably, they gave up their best chance to win years before, as they were distracted.

Doom and gloom? Yes.

Thankfully, a few brave Patriots remain. Holding the line against such a vile enemy.

If this happens, ANYBODY who continues to follow the NFL is a sorry excuse for an American.

Y'know, I'm onboard with this. Let's do it equally. "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" can lead off the pre-game ceremonies. Between that and the tired and worn out regular old National Anthem" they can include the well known and upbeat tune, "Dixie." I'd go for that compromise.
