Speaking only for myself, I'd feel no remorse in enacting vigilante justice on behalf of any child of mine who was abused & the animal walked away with minimal time served.

I’d rather take the law into my own hands. Prison would be a walk on the beach compared to what me, my family, and friends could come up with.

Since there are doctors and nurses in my family we could keep them alive for awhile

So you trust judges in Calif. to use discretion in applying this new law? CALIFORNIA judges? Before Trump changed the judicial landscape out there with his appointments, the Third Circuit was by far the most liberal appeals court in the country. And the lower courts were as bad if not more liberal. I trust no judge in this country anymore, especially when it comes to criminals. It's pretty much accepted that pedophiles are very seldom if ever "cured". You continue to support the judges, I'll continue to support the children of this country.

Valid arguments certainly exist as to the length of the 10-year difference. It certainly seems long, as compared to the Romeo/Juliet statutes in most states.

Thanks. Yeah I agree that feels long for both

This bill just gives judges the same discretion in both same-sex and opposite-sex cases. It is that simple.

This is wrong. Sexual orientation was not a factor in the old law. Can you site were the old law specified the orientation (in the mind) of the perpetrator?

Since you seem to have trouble grasping things no matter how many times a subject is explained to you, I'll try this.

The old law referred to vaginal sexual intercourse.

The new law adds oral and anal sex to be treated the same as vaginal sex.

The law affected only pertains to sex offender registration.

The bill reduces penalties for having sex with children 14-17 and does not require they be registered as sexual offenders.

Technically a pedophile is somebody attracted to children age 10-12.

The last thing we need is more sex between adults and teenagers and more teenage pregnancy.
