Again, show us anything that suggest that prohibition would stop this type of action.

There are thousands of people who carry and no one around them knows they do. In my opinion not enough law abiding citizens carry a weapon. However, many who have guns really don't want to have to use one. Libs think gun owners are cowboys wanting to shoot someone. Those who want to shoot someone are those who are crazy or liberal or both.

The problem has nothing to do with guns. Guns are simply a tool.

Just like a car. Or a bomb. Or an axe. Or a knife.

It is a tool, but a power drill is a hell of a lot more effective than a screwdriver.

And a bomb is more effective than a gun.

K. But you’re not offering a solution. I don’t think gun control is the answer, either, but at least have a counter argument.

Make murder illegal. What? Didn't stop him? Okay, give it the death penalty. What? Didn't stop him? Then what gun law, pray tell, and what punishment would prevent this in a nation of millions of guns? We gotta look out for each other and stop being PC. Everybody knew that a-hole is crazy. You can't legislate crazy away.

Sometimes the good have to suffer for the bad. And there has been a lot of bad, lately.

Yes. Mass killings like this increased in frequency beginning in the late 90s. Why? We had guns before the late 90s, so access to guns is NOT why this is happening.

Also why did ISIS just suddenly become a huge threat in what seemed like overnight? Both types of terrorists (both American mass shooters and Islamic terrorists) seemed to have increased rapidly over the past 20 years. Yet there’s no reason we can pinpoint. Why?

It's almost like these folks suddenly had a way to reach out and connect with each other...almost like they were interconnected on some sort of network.

Something like that. I don’t have the answer. But something changed and our owning guns is not what changed. All I know is the number of mass killer crazies began to rise around the late 90s.

Antidepressants? Realistic violent video games and horror films? Internet brainwashing/recruiting?? Just some thoughts...

Same thing with the rate of teen suicide. Became “popular” right around the same time mass killings did

Yep.

There is no realistic solution. We live in a country where there will be mass shootings every few weeks, and we will all go on with our lives and wait on it to happen again. Even more people will die one at a time to suicides, accidents, or crimes associated with drugs, and no one outside of their immediate circles will care.

We have decided that we want a country that is flooded with guns. There are probably more guns than people, and trying to confiscate them is the only realistic way that a civil war could break out.

People are right to point out that most gun owners never commit a crime or have an accident. The average person is just fine to own a gun, until that normally responsible person gets drunk, or high, or mentally ill, or way too angry at some person or group. Then that person has the power to kill a fairly large number of people with relative ease. I'm not sure most people need to have that kind of power, but it's our right. I know there have been a few times in my life where both me and somebody else were lucky that neither of us had a gun easily available.

We're just going to continue being the only first world country where this happens on a regular basis, and nothing is going to change. Hopefully the next time won't be at a school my kid goes to or at the place where I work, but you never know.

So your fine with that pos killing innocent kids?
Get it through your concrete head. ONE murdered kid is too many. Go give your news flash to the parents of those kids. I'm sure they would love to hear it.

And we will also continue to be the only first world country where martial law will never happen.

Which is the point by the way.
