New York City removes Thomas Jefferson statue that has stood for 187 years

And just like people say we are over reacting that there is a Marxist takeover of this country, they will look back and say we were right about that too.

This is all about going after the constitution and specially 2A. Even at the freaking Constitution Museum where I live in Philadelphia certain tour guides refer to the 2A as “controversial” and make a point at pointing out that men who wrote it owned slaves and that only white men got a vote then will ask the elementary school kids “Does that seem fair to you?”

It’s pretty obvious the Constitution is what’s in their sights. Discredit the founders and you can discredit their documents, especially those first two pesky amendments.

People immigrate here because they hate their country. Why can't the left emigrate from here, it seems very obvious their hatred.

As a bookend to the Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence is the single most important document related to the liberty and freedom of modern people, period.
"Because he owned slaves" - FFS, Jefferson didn't "enslave" anyone. He was born into the condition of being a slaveowner as much as the slaves were to the condition of slavery. Jefferson worked hard to free as many people as he could, including his own slaves.
But, because he wasn't perfect, frick that guy. Well, guess who else wasn't perfect?
No question a great man with a record of great accomplishment, and one I believe was sincere in his convictions. But he was very likely a plagiarist, certainly a womanizer (which would be bad on its own, but this was a man of God) and probably compromised by our enemies abroad.
And he was definitely not perfect, so lets bring him down, too.

I can promise all the statues would be left alone if they put the blade of a dozer to the base of his statue. It wouldn't even have to move.

Still too late, sadly.
The water is starting to boil right now. There won't be anyone brave enough to openly look back and call it what it is, if this coup is successful now. We'll be North Korea within two generations.

I mean, that basically puts us back to what the founding fathers envisioned America to be... before the federal government was allowed to take everything over.
