I spent of 30 seconds on this but is the story as follows, roughly:

Wapo guy sees photo, finds it amusing to shoot a dig at trump in a non official way — gets called for missing the context of the photo nearly immediately and takes it down within like half an hour and posts a “my bad”

Trump gets feelings hurt and tweets demanding apology, and uses what also might be misleading photos?

And there’s a side arguing anyone looks good in the story?

I guess it's about looking relatively good.

On one side you have a reporter posting a picture.

On the other side you have a president lying about the arena being "packed" with "many people unable to get in" and posting FAKE PHOTOS, showing a packed arena.

Weigel is the man. And Trump is such a thin skinned little bitch. I’ll take Weigel over Trump any day.

Apparently it is if the media are trying to make it look bad.

Looks like the reporter apologized. I wonder if Trump will also apologize for lying about the rally. The White House and Trump said the rally was not about Roy Moore at all. He told people to get out and vote for Roy.

The photos of a "packed house" must be photo shopped. They don't mesh with a live recording of the event.

This link is to a live recording a local tv station did for the whole day.

Trump starts to speak at 4 hours 17 minutes.

3 hours 52 mins - shows that the upper deck has been blocked off.

3 hours 55 mins - shows both of the end zones were empty.

YOU TUBE

It was not a packed house. Trump was lying, plain and simple. You can see it for yourself.

Trump is FAKE NEWS.

Uh oh. Looks like Trump was busted in a stone cold lie too. That can’t be possible. He never lies or mislead people. I wonder if he will call for his own resignation like he called for the firing of the reporter ?

Trump is as fake news as his orange hair.

The WaPo reporter admitted he lied about when he took the picture.

Trump lied about the arena being "packed" and "many people unable to get in."

Trump also posted FAKE PHOTOS showing the arena being packed at the time he spoke.

Do you work for WaPo too? Why don't you mosey over to 4:27.30 when the camera pans the room during the speech

Not an empty seat in the house

You are full of crap. You say that at 4:27.30 the video shows a pan of the crowd. WRONG. At 4:27.30 there is a close up of Trump talking about jobs.

Then at 4:28.23 there is still a close up of Trump as he starts leading a "build the wall" chant.

The pan of the crowd starts at 4:33.30.

It shows that they had opened the top section of the seats behind Trump (my times when the top seats were blocked off were from about 20 minutes before the speech started).

There were a spattering of people in those top sections - not even 1/4 of the way full.

It wasn't near being "packed" as Trump claimed or "not an empty seat in the house" as you said.

You either didn't watch the video or you're a bald-faced liar.

Either way - you're the moron.

What a hack

4:57.45

top section is full. Why do you think the WaPo reporter apologized

And you started out with the ends were empty, and so was the top section. Still sticking with that?

The problem I have with Trump's condemnation of media bias and of "FAKE news" is that it is selective. He acts as if Fox News / Conservative media isn't biased and doesn't have an agenda. He calls out incorrect reporting that is detrimental to himself but he doesn't call out incorrect reporting that is beneficial to himself. He furthers the stupid narrative that only Liberal media is biased and Conservative media is not. And he makes it out as if he is the first President towards whom media was unfair and out to damage. Clearly the RW media was unfair towards Obama, out to damage him, and sought to delegitimize his Presidency. It comes with the territory and it is tiresome seeing Trump whine about that which every President has faced.

He saw a picture of a sparse crowd and what he thought was Trump in the picture entering the arena.

If that's what he thought he saw, what do you think he would do with it, especially with all the history of Trump and the size of his crowds?

How many non-partisan reporters work for Fox? Or the rest of the right-leaning media.

You're being a little Pollyanna-like on this, don't you think?.
