Vice President Mike Pence has been kept in the dark about former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn's alleged wrongdoing, according to a source close to the administration, who cited a potential "pattern" of not informing the vice president and calling it "malpractice or intentional, and either are unacceptable."

The White House has denied a story in The New York Times that Flynn informed White House Counsel Don McGahn, then the lawyer for Trump's transition, on January 4 that he was under federal investigation for working as a lobbyist for Turkey during the presidential campaign.

The source called the report of another discretion by Flynn "stunning."

...

"It's also a fact that if he told McGahn that during the transition, it's also a fact that not only was Pence not made aware of that, no one around Pence was as well," the source said. "And that's an egregious error — and it has to be intentional. It's either malpractice or intentional, and either are unacceptable."

The source said that if The Times story is true, blame would lie on McGahn and whoever he told for not informing the vice president or his advisers.

"The New York Times runs a story that says that Flynn actually confessed to McGahn that he's under federal investigation, and no one told the transition chairman or any of his senior team. None."
Just so you know, the author on this piece is Vaughn Hillyard, who's been NBC's embed on Mike Pence's talks to think tanks and Mike Pence's trip to Korea.

Mike you're not the most subtle player of this game but god bless you.

Savage was right.

They're starting on pence using the Flynn story.

This is the opposite of that, it's NBC running a story where an anonymous source (whose name definitely does not rhyme with Spike Rents) claims he was completely out of the loop.

Let THAT sink in.

I don't think anyone ever doubted that - Savage can carry on an hours long conversation about virtually any topic. He's also batshit crazy. But, he's right A LOT and his accuracy seems to be going up in his old age.

So, there's that...

Yeah. I'm not sure how he could reach the opposite conclusion.

I wonder if he saw "Pence" and that was enough for him to make his lost.

But tell us more about this Spike fella.

Is it against the law to work as a lobbyist for Turkey?

It's against the law and various regs to not properly disclose it (and other associations)--especially when holding a security clearance and/or seeking a position in National Security.

I don't have a clue whether there's any legitimacy to this.

But just once, it'd be refreshing to see an actual news report that contains verifiable facts, rather than a poorly written accounting of a tertiary "source."

These "news" slugs aren't interested in fact-gathering; they just want to be the first to report potential dirt.
