Not always. Plenty of times they ask for an officer to respond. I know because I've done it.

In a hot situation, yes - police have to get things C4 before FD and EMS can get in and do their thing. But plenty of times your person reporting asks for police.

In this case (maybe you didn't read the article), it sounds like the mom asked for police, but again I ask - why? What law needed enforcing?

Three black tenagers were killed, supposedly a gang war, in Knoxville, Tn in the last couple of weeks. Twelve homicides in the last 47 days.
We don't need no Police.
They are now marching to demand action.

Valid reasons for police involvement.

A tiny Filipino dude who has the sads is not.
