You know it. Firearms generally start off as military rifles. Interesting tidbit was that it wasn't until after WW1 did American hunters become major users of bolt rifles.
I have personally met hunters who view bolt rifles with scopes as unsporting. One of them is a family member. Course same family member likes the AK47 and milled is superior to stamp reciever. Single and double barrel is all that's needed to them.

Any hunter who thinks bolt rifles are immune are in for a rude shock. They'll start passing laws forbidding mlok style handguards and fancy folding stocks. Don't need threaded barrel for brake or suppressor. Forget about bipods. Caliber restrictions are on the menu.

If that sounds crazy, just look at how Alyssa Milano trips out about bolt.50s and do remember Hogg talking about rifles with sights. The same people who told us supporting gay marriage won't affect anyone else's lifestyle are the same people who tell us genders are a social construct, you must celebrate gay lifestyle or be condemned as a bigot and trans is not only socially acceptable but you're a bigot for not finding them attractive. That started about 2 years ago.
