We're talking economics, Goober. Wealth would be their muscle. They have little.
But when we talk about "rogers" economics, it's different. Hmm. If they have little muscle (wealth), shouldn't be that hard to convice them to stop bullying us (taking our lunch money thru tarriffs) then. Sounds like they will take a knee pretty quick. Much like Mexico and Canada have.

Or Mileis Economics.

Or Ron Pauls.

Its nothing to do with Trump. They are objectively proponents of an unconditional global free trade system.

You have no response to the substance of the post anyway.

Primary job creation has a ripple effect.

That depends entirely on how the job was created and tariffs don't create wealth. Wealth creation is the goal, not employment. We can pay someone to dig a hole then fill it back up, and he's got a job, but we haven't created any wealth. We've just transferred a bit.

I'm talking about your personal economics at school when dealing with the bully. Ever hear a hypothetical?
There are lots of people out there that claim to be "experts". My dad would always call them educated idiots.

Point is, the other countries are ripping us off like the bully in school. We either keep giving them the tarriffs (our lunch money) or we bust them in the chops (with reciprocal tarriffs). I believe they will fold like a cheap suit, perhaps you don't One of us will be right. I'm ecstatic to have a President that is willing to stand up and fight.

To put it mildly.

And it killed the competition and innovation you were so sure it enhanced.

Where are your economic values rooted?

Society?
Self Interest?
Globally?
Community?

Which serves you best?

Youre not going to save them. They're going to have to grow or learn to deal with the service sector.

So if the bully in school comes from a poor family (more poor than you), you're fine with him taking your lunch money?
Kinda sounds like the democrats argument that the rich should pay more in taxes. You know, their "fair" share.

Sounds awfully close to a globalist. Oh wait, Bush, Obama, Biden...all globalists. What form of government is Roger longing for, aka the status quo?

It did not.

Innovation occurs on the margins, which is antithetical to protectionism. American companies overcome foreign disparities through technology and other innovative processes.

American companies turned to tech.

Now we have a serious issue with very important supply chains.

Your mental model only accounts for agents that can only buy and sell. When in reality, agents can buy, sell, and shoot you.

Well, if they want to remain less wealthy clinging onto archaic economic policies, that's fine by me. I'll take their cheaper products.

Exactly. Theyre holding up these poor nations as examples of something we should aspire to.

You do realize that trade with Canada will not end when they agree to America's demands right? So what is the negative?

Seems like you are fighting for tariffs from other countries for no other reason than because it goes against Trump's wishes. All of this globalism that you crave, will still happen, but US companies will prosper and have greater earning potential equaling to more GDP.

The only way you can be against the inevitability of Canada and these other countries caving, is because you want global welfare funded by American industry.

Society? -- no not really.
Self Interest? -- Everyone has their self-interest at heart, no matter what they may say.
Globally? -- not at all
Community? -- not really
Which serves you best? I worry about my family first. In the bigger picture my family is America and the American citizens. They come first before any and all others. And I don't take shite from anyone. I'm not going to let you, the bully at school, my neighbor or anyone else steal from me without a fight.
