You know why they dodged the draft? Because they could,and they were smarter than me and bunch of other dummies.I was in the Seabees,not a combat role,but some got killed and wounded.I never went but I volunteered twice and for some reason wasn’t called.I bought into all the patriotic bullshite about stopping Communism,the Domino theory,etc.It was all a bunch of crap,propping up a corrupt regime and serving the interests of the military-industrial complex.

But since you kind of asked in a weird, argumentative way...I think having to make decisions that may include sacrifice for the greater good of the mission could potentially translate to unbiased, fact-based decision making that is for the greater good if ever confronted with that type of situation.
But like you said, I'm a shite stain who didn't serve, so what do I know
