Not sure who you're referring to but most of the exchanges I've read it's not about whether it's okay to agree/disagree. It's more about surprise in seeing Trump superfans parroting Democrat narratives on importing cheap foreign labor.
You can support importing cheap foreign labor, davy - no problem. Everyone is entitled to their opinions/choices.

Super Dave, you’re entitled to see what you want to see, but what I’m seeing is an epidemic of people who love to disagree with anything they see fit to do so, however become unhinged when someone disagrees with their disagreements. An epidemic. That’s what I’m seeing.

Wait, so given the obvious meaning of the phrase “you’re entitled to see what you want to see” being you’re entitled to your own opinion and viewpoint (of whatever the topic may be) - you outright disagree with that notion?? By way of personal observation I know that many here do adopt that belief, but I didn’t think you would be in that group.

I think there's a difference between you being entitled to support importing cheap foreign labor and you being entitled to pretend a superfan arguing "we need foreigners because Americans won't work hard" isn't now parroting the Dem narrative about the open border, right?
You're not arguing that all these guys standing up for the establishment position on importing labor weren't anti-establishment two months ago, are you?

I may not be understanding you here - are you saying you're surprised I don't support importing cheap foreign labor while over 20 million able-bodied Americans are on government dole?
Because that's my issue with the open border and the H1B visa program as practiced by fedgov. If we were at full employment and full labor participation and we needed more hands, I'm all in on importing labor.

Well David, on this particular issue do you believe the notion of each person being entitled to their own opinion/positon is somehow suspended? Doesn’t apply? Because the most obvious interpretation of what you’re saying here is that on this issue, if a given opinion/viewpoint doesn’t align with yours then it’s wrong. That’s not exactly how opinion works, is it? I have to believe that you acknowledge that - without even having to get into what the instant topic or issue up for discussion is. Have you not noticed the lack of me telling you what you say on this issue (again, or any other) is just unambiguously wrong? Of course you have not seen me do that.

Dude, read what I wrote.
You're entitled to support H1Bs and the open border. I think that position is wrong for the country but I would never tell you you're not entitled to having a view different from mine.
But superfans that were decidedly anti-establishment and ridiculed the Dem narrative "they're only taking jobs Americans won't do!" now flipflopping and taking those positions and making those arguments is not an opinion. It's either accurate or inaccurate, and we've got a dozen threads establishing tit as accurate.

I don’t get it. Is there any good reason why you would even care if you perceive a handful of anonymous people on an anonymous internet message board flip flop or hop scotch or whatever the hell you (and quite a few others) have done on any given issue, particularly on an anonymous website? I don’t care what your opinion is on this matter, nor do I believe you actually care what mine is, which I haven’t even stated one time. In fact I’ve made it pretty clear that my point isn’t even specific to this or any other particular issue. Mine has clearly been a much broader point, a point that keeps getting dragged further and further into the muck apparently.
If you think any given poster’s thoughts on this or any other topic is as ugly as you’re attempting to frame mine (which again, is N/A to this point), why not move on to someone who you might gel with in discussion a bit better?
And try not to overlook the fact that you started in on me while I was making my own personal, general observations about others’ approach to what we do here, you weren’t even in the mix.

That’s what this is. I’m not losing sleep over your political positions but surely you understand why I’d point out on a politics forum that your new establishment credentials run counter to a position we shared as of a week ago, right?
