Maybe you are less tolerant and more dumb in your older age?

I never saw this in any of the libraries of the schools I taught at, but I taught K-8.
If a kid can “turn _____” from reading a book, the kid reading books is the least of my worries.
fricking knew it...
"It's not happening."
"Ok, it's happening but it's not a big deal."
Do you see why people severely dislike you and your fellow progressives?

Simple answer...if you don't like the laws, don't take government money.
I still don't understand why libraries exist
I still don't understand why libraries exist

So... in fewer words, you want porn in grade school libraries?? Am I reading that correctly?

but they can check out a book with pics of little Timmy sucking off his friend’s daddy.
What book has this, and what school or public library has this in their children's section?
Be specific.

I don't think he is. Don't straw man him.
Also, why is it such a huge issue for people promoting more government to admit they're not a "small government conservative"? Why is that label so important? Why is is so hard for people to admit they're a "big government conservative" when it comes to social issues?

You think ANY limiting of material available in school libraries is "book banning" and inappropriate?
The bill applies the rules to public and school libraries.
I'm willing to consider some limits in school libraries.
In public libraries certain material requires a parent approval to check out. Don't need more than that.

Ha, I don't think you have to worry about kids reading The Canterbury Tales. I've read thousands of books, this was literally one of less than maybe 5 books that I started and didn't finish
This was required reading in my high school.
And again, the bill applies to all public and school libraries. It doesn't make an exception for high school libraries, etc.

That's fine when it comes to a private enterprise taking government money.
We are talking about public libraries - all government money funded, and school libraries... of which public school libraries are all government money funded.

Please go read the article / bill in the OP.
The bill as written applies to ALL school libraries and ALL public libraries. It does not distinguish between access for minors and access for adults. It does not distinguish between school libraries and public libraries.
It does not distinguish between "porn" and "50 shades of gray"
Do I think a 45 year old woman should be able to check out "50 Shades of Gray" from a public library? yes I do.
Would the book be considered obscene under this bill and thus not allowed to be in the public library? Yes it does.
If the esteemed legislators want to pull this bill and come back with one that "bans porn in grade school libraries" then I am fine with that.
This bill has nothing to do with protecting children. It has to do with control of all.
If they were just concerned with protecting children, then the bill would look FAR different than it does.

Why wouldn’t obscene pictures already be covered by this statute?
Because Democrats ESPECIALLY Democrat Judges are notorious for twisting, lying and outright IGNORING the Law when they see an opening.
Sometimes it has to be explained more precisely and forcefully before they acquiesce to what is understood by even a layperson.

Call it whatever you want, it is book banning. It is the practice that one group thinks their moral beliefs trump other people's moral beliefs, when it comes to government entities such as schools and libraries.
We either allow all the books in school (Turner Diaries, Mein Kampf, The International Jew etc) or we all get to ban material we find objectionable

Teachers have become child-abusers.
Thanks for confirming what we all believed.

People who want to normalize Porn to kids are inferior in every way to those who DON"T want to normalize Porn to kids.
So yes, in that respect, MY moral beliefs ABSOLUTELY trump yours.

To sum it up, that clown doesn’t know shite from shinola.

Very, very, VERY few people are trying to "normalize porn to kids"
Allowing 50 shades of gray to be rented by adults in a public library does not normalize porn to kids.
Some of you people live in a weird place.
If your school library is normalizing porn to little kids, maybe you need to go have a talk with the principal.
