The core problem the Dems have is their big tent is considerably broader than the GOP’s big tent. There is disagreement within the GOP but the breadth of the party is easier to get behind a coherent platform. Let’s be real, most NeverTrumpers are less in disagreement about what MAGA wants to accomplishment and more about decorum and appearances. They’re elites that want to be conservative but still hang out with liberals without feeling embarrassed. Trump, in their minds, is too banal, venal, etc for their affectations.

The Democrats on the other hand have people who are just a click or two to the left of the most liberal GOP person. They also have people who are a click or two to the right of Mao Zedong. You can’t really resolve that breadth into a coherent platform.

Once Scotus rules you can't use race to create new districts, those gains will be gone but panic a little more.

Down vote away. This probably doesn't mean ANYTHING at all.

In MISSISSIPPI...

After DECADES of a Republican super majority...

In an election cycle where we were told that Trump made HUGE gains in the black male vote...

Yes...
Move along...
Nothing to see here....

If this is the only line you can think of, I'd ask that you please not reply to me.

It's a waste of my time and energy to even have to read such stupidity

The base that made them is dying daily now. And the pace is only increasing.

If they think it's bad now, wait 20 years when all the boomers are gone. There won't be a Republican party.

Meanwhile, they'll just sit here and lie to themselves and say everything is fine. Nothing to see here.

Ok...don't say you weren't warned.

And the dirty secret behind it all? They pushed those people there by being so divisive and exclusionary with everything they have done for 40+ years now.

From the article you linked:

quote:

The victories followed Tuesday’s special legislative elections. Six Senate seats were up for a special election on Tuesday, along with one House seat, because a federal court ordered the State to create more Black-majority legislative districts earlier this year. Two other Senate districts were up for special elections to fill vacated seats, along with a House seat.

And there you have it. Federally mandated gerrymandering of voting districts. It has absolutely nothing to do with any decline in MAGA or conservative ideology. The pickup of seats by the Dems was entirely due to outside tampering and federal influence that flies in the face of the idea of the limited powers federal government.

Do you have any clue how weak it looks for someone to make a valid point and your response is about gym lockers?
