Montgomery flies gay pride flags while city, state and U.S. flags missing from City Hall

The pride flag is also flying with the American and state flag at the Montgomery VA headquarters.

Montgomery needs a new mayor and city government overhaul. It is disgraceful for this to happen in the South.

I worked in Montgomery for 23 years when i got a good opportunity to leave i walked out the door and never looked back. It is a shithole.

Montgomery. The first capital of the Confederate States of America. My Unc ran a law firm out of the Capital building. They fled to Birmingham after retirement, but I am not sure it was much of an upgrade.

Make sure anybody you know in Montg actually votes in August. The scumbag Mayor was caught on tape putting down black votes and he has competition from the Probate Judge, who is black, and the former Mayor who was competent. I've never heard anybody say anything bad about the Probate Judge, though I do not know his story.

You left out Sidney Lanier ... one of the great U.S. High Schools ... you won't find many high schools in the country who have turned out more successful or famous people... Bart Starr, Zelda Fitzgerald, Richmond Flowers, Toni Tennille, Hank Williams (did not graduate there), military leaders, pro athletes, and many more.

In the 60s, early 70s, the Lee- Lanier football rivalry was one of the tops in the country.

Lanier was an educator and poet. The city changed the name of the high school a couple of years ago because he was a "soldier" in the Civil War.

Maxwell AFB and the state capitol stuff is what keeps Montgomery from being worse.
