Poverty is the cumulative result of bad decisions. A good decision is to try to get out of that environment - I don't understand the purpose of destroying people's property value to attempt some ill-conceived, liberal ideas from the "Good Idea Fairies (tm)".
Good intentions mean zilch if the result is a bad outcome.
Housing projects, where the poor are shoved into small enclaves, has a negative effect.

In proper context, my views are not naive.
If it "works for NYC", why aren't developers doing it on their own? Why not allow market forces to determine what "works"?
And if developers are already doing it on their own, why do we need laws to make them do it?
