I saw an interview with Thomas Massie yesterday and he basically said there was no way to get it scrapped. So, all they can really do is try to add some warrant requirements and civil causes of action and criminal penalties for abuse.

The FBI knowingly lied to the FISA Court in Hillary's Russia collusion hoax and then spied on the Trump campaign. Even Clinesmith who fabricated evidence only got a slap on the wrist. I doubt the people who have ignored the past laws will care about this one.

As I said before, getting rid of FISA depends on an Executive that either won't sign to re-authorize it, or if there's a veto override, refuses to allow Executive Branch personnel to make use of it.

Called it. LINK

don't start congratulating yourself too quick. The first round of the NDAA (just like CRs) always fails. So that all the reps can say "I voted against _______". Then it gets passed with _____ in it.

Just came here to say Frick Turner and Johnson.

They squashed the Schumer UAP legislation and caved on FISA. Unforgiveable swamp people who are just creating generational wealth for their families.

We'll revisit it in April and I can almost guarantee they'll be reauthorizing.

Yes, but each time they have to reauthorize, Mike Johnson has a bargaining chip. In April, they will probably reauthorize to October (or something like that). So the FISA supporters keep having to spend energy defending it...until congress and the president can swing back.

In the meantime, he gets a little bit of leverage in other negotiations.

Speaker Mike Johson (R-LA) backtracked and caved to the deep state and Democrats, moving to slip a deep state authorization into the defense bill.

If only someone had predicted that the SOH would have to negotiate.
