Michael Jordan must be loving this

Nike pandering to the crowd that lines up for days to pay ridiculous money for his shoes. I’m sure the price of those shoes will double now just to keep Nike afloat.

Mike probably wishes they would STFU.
As he famously put it before, “Republicans buy shoes too.”

As MJ once said: “Republicans buy shoes too.”

Well he’s not saying much now. Or did I miss it?

He refuses to comment on social issues in general. That’s always been his schtick. That comment posted above was in reference to when he was asked why he wasn’t speaking out against ______ outrage of the day. He doesn’t want to be a divisive figure because he knows all kinds of people buy his products.

You think Nike ran with this shite without letting MJ know?

Him not saying anything now is probably a good move so that this anti-Nike controversy can die down. Saying something supportive of the Kaepernick ad would just add more fuel to the fire. Saying something against Nike running the ad with Kaep would just get the other side mad at MJ and accusing him of being an Uncle Tom. Sometimes its best not to say anything.

Is there a fricking word in the dictionary that’s not racist? What do you call a gathering of people lined up to buy shoes? I realize you’re probably being sarcastic.

Wouldn't really be surprising to me if they didn't tell him. Kaepernick isn't under the Jordan brand division. Nike didn't give advance notice to their other biggest business partners/sponsors either. Nike blindsided the NFL with this and supposedly people within the NFL front offices are pissed about it because they want the anthem controversy to fade out of the news and Nike just brought it back to the front page again...and doesn't help that Nike is running Kaepernick ads during NFL games while Kaepernick has an ongoing collusion lawsuit against the NFL.

What?? Of course they did. Have you not noticed the complete lack of self awareness by the left?

Yeah I don’t want to tick off the other side. Got to keep that cash flow going.

NIKE will be kept afloat by China. The Chinese will reduce the cost of the products they ship to NIKE to compensate for the loss of revenue, if any. China can well afford to do this since most of the NIKE products supposedly made in China are actually made in N. Korea at a much cheaper cost than if they were manufactured in China. Thus China's profit from NIKE products is huge so a temporary cut in the margin won't cause significant damage.

Sadly this is the world we live in now, where if you speak out for or against a single thing, it means you always will feel the way that aligns with one incident.

You all love attributing words and ideas to others. Im not a Jordan fan at all , but the man has said he never said that.
Hes either a huge liar or has no conviction about anything bhecause he seems to be afraid to repeat it.

You get it and I am surprised we aren’t seeing more of this point being made in some circles.
Nike openly supporting the plaintiff side in a collusion suit brought by the player (plaintiff) against their own business partner.

The NFL is caught between another rock and a hard place.
They tied to play soft core SJW while totally controlling their brand when this all started.
Now this.
NIKE buys television adds which feeds the NFL money machine, so they can't come down hard on them.
Sometimes when you try to walk the fence you fall off and hurt yourself.

I doubt Jordan Brand is affected one way or the other.
Posted on 9/6/18 at 12:45 pm to Montezuma
You are probably right about his branded items. I'm betting that a significant portion of those who buy "Jordan" products have no clue as to who the manufacturer is.

To me Michael Jordan is the link that directly confirms Nike’s hypocrisy. So they are using Collin Kaepernick to make a statement against police brutality and racism towards blacks - specifically cops who kill blacks in the line of duty. However, in the early 90’s they made no stance whatsoever when blacks were killing other blacks for a pair of $150 Air Jordan’s...the irony...
