It doesn't matter when it happened. If it happened there need to be consequences. There are a lot of things that have happened and should be addressed but as yet have not.

Yeah hopefully Trump gets in power again, controls the DOJ and has both houses of Congress.

Oh wait.

Cohen had already written in January that he felt pressured and coerced into providing testimony that prosecutors wanted, and Trump and Cohen publicly reconciled last month. Reuters reported that during their August radio interview, Trump specifically told Cohen, “I respect the fact that you recanted everything you said.”

So precisely what Trump said. How could you think this isn’t saying what it says? Dummy.

I agree. I'm just saying there's a lay person's understanding of "recant," and a legal meaning of "recant."

IF the legal grounds for Cohen "recanting" existed, don't you think Trump's DOJ would have pounced on the New York prosecutorial scum as soon as Cohen's words became public?

My guess is that Cohen was interviewed by DOJ when the story broke, and said "well, I wouldn't go THAT far...."

You used to be rational. I enjoyed our discussions.

In the spirit of that, what leverage do you think the State of New York had over Cohen to suborn perjury?

Cohen had already served his federal time for perjury and fraud. Were there plausible state charges he was facing?

This is as dumb as you saying you pray for people. Nobody believes you and you’re just putting fluff in your reply.

You're talking about people who were able to manufacture fake crime after fake crime and hang 34 felony convictions around the neck of a former POTUS and candidate for the White House. What leverage? Anything they frickin dream up is the honest answer.

Do you ever look at what you write and wonder:

"How did I become such a miserable person that I harangue strangers on the internet who are just trying to be civil?"

How are you going to say you're just trying to be civil when you're outright implying that other people in this thread are being irrational? How is that any better than DeBoar saying that you're just putting fluff in your posts?

Fair point. My prediction is that Cohen will never formally recant. What do you think?

If it's true that this happened awhile back and Trump is only just now drawing attention to it, I would presume Trump has a calculated reason for doing so and that makes me hopeful.

I was trying to be civil with BBONDS because we had a nice chat one time about our respective legal backgrounds. He seemed to respect mine. Calling me a dummy instead of responding to my points seemed out of character. I was curious about how New York would have suborned perjury.

As for DeBoar, he clearly is irrational. I didn't mean to just imply that. Track his responses.

I have tried to be as nice to him as I could, and respond less and less to his personal attacks on me.
