I explained what inspecting every piece of cargo would entail. Effectively closing the border for trade by grinding the flow of any goods to a halt and creating a long backlog.

They will understand that statement if they dont do something about the cartels. Easiest would be to stop all remittances to Mexico. Next would be a halt to any merchandise coming into our country. That would hurt us in the short time but may make manufacturers move facilities into the us to avoid the blockade.

Yeah, that definitely was the case with alcohol. Way fewer deaths now. Also, OD's are not the only deaths associated with drug use, and legalizing shite like heroin only radically increases drug use.
A lot of places that decriminalized drug use have now reversed that policy. It's not a solution. Quite the opposite.
