Please tell me I didn't actually read this. Mass vaccination of schoolchildren in the 1950s using the Salk vaccine (made from inactivated poliovirus) and in the 1960s using the Saban vaccine (live attenuated poliovirus applied to sugar cubes) essentially eliminated polio disease from the US population.
The existence of polio in the US today is almost certainly is a result of unchecked immigration.

If someone has a localized infection, yes you do.
If someone had a localized cancer before it metastasized, yes you do.
We do this all the time. And it works.
