So about a month ago I got a letter from Medicare showing it did not pay about ten thousand dollars for procedures I never had. All seven charges were for an identical procedure. In fact these charges were rung up in Austin, Texas and I'm five hours from there.

So I searched for news about Medicare fraud in Austin. And on CBS it was reported that a fraud ring tied to a Russian had been exposed and the MO was to steal numbers and flood Medicare with charges hoping to get payments for as much as they could get. The people on the ground in Austin claimed they knew nothing about it.

So somehow, some way this operation was able to get into the system and steal information.

I just received my new Medicare number today.

Wait until you find out that you've been in/on Hospice the past three years.

The billing fraud in traditional Medicare is out of control. I work as a healthcare consultant and it is just freaking rampant.
