quote:

Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin sparred during the second and final debate of Virginia’s governor’s race on Tuesday, but it was one comment on schools by McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate, that drew the ire of conservatives.

"I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach," McAuliffe, who previously served as governor of Virginia from 2014 to 2018, said during the debate in Alexandria, Virginia.

McAuliffe made the remarks in response to Youngkin, the Republican candidate, who argued that parents should be more involved in the decisions of local school districts. Conservative social media responded.

"I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach..."

Terry the Punk and the rest of the democrats think your children belong to the government. Parents should absolutely have a say in what their children are taught in school. McAuliffe would change his tune if Virginia public schools taught history that was favorable to the Confederacy.

The bots on Twitter are going after Christian schools today. They don’t want you having any control of what your children learn.

“No. Your kids will learn our government approved material. They will be educated on a diverse variety of sexual acts and 69ing in kindergarten. You have no way in your child’s education. You will stay away and like it…Meanwhile, my child will go to the most elite private schools…”

It's time to create more Christian schools. If there a public school, a Christian school is needed; maybe 2 or more. Let's get busy.

We do school so incorrectly in this country.

Kids should be taught nothing but reading, math, and science till at least high school. And even then they should focus on reading. Social studies is such bullshite.

Does anyone really remember anything they learned before high school other than how to learn? We should be teaching kids how to learn rather than pushing useless crap down their throats.

So crazy to think how far we've come from 1960 when it was anathema to even suggest Federal control over education. Both Nixon AND Kennedy were quick to point out how they wanted nothing but local control here.

Now we act as if there's always been a Department of Education and if we got rid of it kids would no longer receive an education...

I don’t think the government should be telling parents how to care for their kids. But it fricking happens, so pucker up buttercup.

Right, let’s let the government do that instead.

You mean the parents that fricking pay for these schools? All the government's "revenue" comes from taxes. These little mini tyrants in government are a bottomless pit of depravity.

They are trying to create "global citizens" for the totalitarianism to come.

To the people of Virginia:

This couldn't have been said better than by John Dewey himself.

The American-born leftist educator who fraternized with the entire cadre of neo-Marxists we allowed in here during the War.

He even acted in the capacity of sponsor and character reference for them, and then went on to conceptualize and write the procedural approach to education the nation would take in its public school system.

These people..

Get kids out of public schools. They're turning them into nothing but obedience training and diploma mills.
