Just imagine the effect of Rush Limbaugh

Rush was truly one of a kind. He knew just the right mix of commentary and humor.

Today’s pundits from the right sound like they have a stick up their arse.

Rush had an audience because he earned it. It wasn’t because he was a politician or went to some prestigious university. He fought the establishment before fighting against the establishment was cool.

yet using Occam’s Razor to conclude that he didn’t want the Ethics Committee report released get you downvoted into oblivion.

My favorite was the "he only resigned from THIS congress, he'll be seated again in January" angle.

There's a lot of deception in politics, but sometimes things are exactly what they look like. He didn't walk away from an essentially lifetime congressional seat for no reason.

True, just look and Joe and Kamala. Hollywood couldn’t polish that turd.

Because he represents a very red district and has an R next to his name on the ballot.

I’m a big fan of his with regard to his time in Congress but I agree completely.

Something was in that report that sent him running.

I thought he was on a path to the senate or governorship but to go from reelected to Congress to AG nominee to OAN host speaks to a bigger issue.

Well, yeah. The "bigger issue" is that he spent a lot of time deliberately pissing people off and exposing their dirty laundry. As a voter I think that's great and I don't care what side of the aisle they're on. You've got a safe district so you can throw bombs 24/7, fine. We don't need too many bomb throwers but we need a couple.

But from a strategic standpoint if you're going to go around exposing the dirty laundry of everybody around you, your own laundry better damn well be clean. His apparently is not. He FAFO.

Yep, he threw stones at other peoples glass houses, missed and hit his own.

Yeah, this definitely seems like an unforced error occurred and he's trying to find a useful way to stay on the team. I'd be happy to be wrong, but filling the AG spot seems to have been handled questionably. Lets hope he can still be as much or more of an impact behind the camera. With so many unreliable "conservative" people in congress, and that slim margin in the House, can't be messing these things up.
