Who's going to require this? Their employer who knows how best to run the company? Themselves if they're self employed? Or Big Daddy Government?

Conservatives love Big Daddy Government just as much as liberals do, as long as it is used to push their beliefs.

I work offshore. The minimum work week is 84 hours. Whoopity Dooooo!!

And then you get a week off.

So you are averaging… 42 hours a week.

YEP! I average around 95 a week.

The entire year? Doubt it. That's 14 hrs/day 7 days a week.

Well that’s the part of the equation I didn’t consider. I interpreted this as loads of hours every week forever. Throw in a couple of week breaks like that and then I have no problem with it.

I think offshore gets to count lots of hours when they're not actively working, but someone can correct me.

Offshore, plants (shift work) all get plenty of time off. Yeah you work long hours while you're on, but you end up getting about half the year off too.

People acting like they work 80 hr weeks every single week is absurd. Even the military isn't putting in that amount of actual work and those were the most brutal schedules I ever had.

Nope. We just need to continue letting those willing to work 80+ hours a week get rich and those who want to work part time stay poor. We need to make sure they all know exactly why they are poor.

The simple act of not taxing OT will create a lot of OT and as a result unproductive people will lose their job.

The issue is salaried people dont get OT they work long hours to get the job done and done correctly

Slashing the government non-workers will create better productivity the old “addition thru subtraction”. Not just federal but state and local also….

Yeah I said the same thing on page 6

80 hours here or there? Sure.

80 hours consistently? There is a very small portion of the population who can do this and it's basically a superpower.

Also, when we're talking about mental-based work, it becomes even more difficult to put in productive hours. Most humans can't work more than 2 hours of productive mental work in a row.

What you get is the Japanese thing of people faking like they're doing work to "put in the hours".
