Just watched it again and think even more now that all 5 of those fricking pigs should spend time in jail.

Sorry, you're wrong again.
No.
So you're saying Republicans love the weed and Democrats never smoke?
You're a tool.
Weed quadrupled from $30/oz to $120/oz in a matter months after Nancy re-declared the WoD. And like I said, the Democrats were forced into a corner, if they fought against the WoD they were labelled as soft on crime. It doesn't really matter what was happening n the 90's, my point is theat the Republicans started the WoD with Nixon, and then re-started it with Reagan. The party of small government was the one more interested in perpetuating the war and eroding our 4th Amend rights through big government. It was primarily this hypocrisy that turned me away from the Republican party in the 80s.

Just the opposite. As a young guy, I trusted the government. As I've gotten older, I've learned why no one should.
We are talking about the police not the government.

Even if that was the case, The police are still NOT the government which is composed of three branches (Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches).
We are talking about the police in particular not the government and whether the police can be or should be trusted to act within the legal authority they are granted by society (government) which is to enforce the laws of this country.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Police forces are empowered by the government officials to be the enforcement arm of the laws they pass. They are a part of the government whether state, local or national.

He's just doing mental gymnastics so that he can rationalize being pro- "big" police yet pro- "small" govt. It's really sad and he's obviously fooling no one. I thought when dawgfan stopped ending all his posts with

Exactly what he's doing. You can't be small govt and support a huge, aggressive police force.

Which brach of "the government" are the police a part of?
The Executive?
No.
The Legislative?
No.
The Judicial?
No.
The police are employed by "the government" to be the enforcers of our laws but they are not "the government".
Kapeesh?

The police may be under the control of one of three branches of "the government" but they are not elected by the people or appointed by someone who is elected by the people. They are no more "the government" than a clerk who is hired to file papers for "the government".
Now who do you want to enforce the laws if you don't trust the police to do it correctly?
