That is if a recent Rasmussen Poll is to be believed. 70% of American adults believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Breaking it down:

White - 69%
Black - 76%
Other Non-White - 70%
Democrats - 65%
Republicans - 85%

Matthew 7:14

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Lol. So you believe polls again?

People say they believe, but don't act that way or attend church.

The huge religious gap between white democrats and black democrats is astounding.

less than half of white democrats believe jesus rose from the dead.

I clearly stated my skepticism at the beginning of my OP:

I'm wondering if the same can be said for Hispanics.

There is so much (from a spiritual standpoint) that should bring us together. It's sad really how inept the Republican leadership has been on this.

I assume they’re atheists.

At the very least, they think religion is icky.

The problem is that most churches do not follow the teachings of Christ. You do not need a church to have a relationship with God. Read the Bible and seek Him with all your heart.

An overwhelming majority of Hispanics in this country are believers in Christianity.

I’m religious. Go to church once a year. Tough to go when you have to work a 12hr shift every other Sunday

I believe but don't attend as regular as I should or wish I could. Sadly I was reminded today why...

The Church hasn't forced people to respect it as the House of God. A girl sat a few rows ahead of us and mom asked me if she was wearing her PJs. I looked at the girl was wearing a pair of silk shorts that you could see the bottom of her but cheeks. "Sunday's best" is no longer a thing.

I grew up understanding that there was nothing more respected than the Church. Collared button down shirt and slacks at minimum. No drinks or food, no hats/jeans/shorts, etc. Its like going to the mall today.

Yes I'm old fashion when it comes to the respecting the Church, but if it doesn't demand it be respected, then it's not surprising where things have gotten.

This 100%. I’m Catholic and they tell me I should be going to church every Sunday, but I believe as long as you honor God on the Sabbath, you are doing right by Him. I’m not advocating against going to church, I enjoy going when I can, but I don’t believe it’s a sin not to go.

The offering plate is in the church. Cadillacs and activities centers don't build themselves.

True. Many entire denominations have departed from the Apostolic Faith and have abandoned anything remotely resembling orthodox Christianity. If you're in such an organization, leave it a find a faithful Church.

Sound advice always.

This just "me, my Bible, and Jesus" is one of the most pernicious and damnable notions ever perpetrated among Christians. The New Testament, beyond the gospels, is about little else than the founding of Christ's Church, its growth, its mission, its corporate Faith, and its corporate Worship.

Most all the New Testament epistles are literally addressed to individual churches and circulated among and between them.

Come on man, you know better than that.

A Church is people, not a building. God doesn't need shelter.

We all have a direct connection to God. I can appreciate what priests and pastors do, but at the end of the day it’s between God and I.

Those that call themselves religious but don't go to Church will have children that are not religious and do not go to Church

The Bible teaches against denominations. It calls all of Christ's followers to be of one mind.

quote:

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there so shall I be.

Jesus never said it had to be in a building every Sunday with a large group. Does the Bible say it is damnable? Be careful issuing your judgment.

The disciples went out in twos traveling and preaching and then moving on. I see nothing wrong with this.
