So does it make it less egregious that it wasn't all tied to a single network? 163 children were rescued. Period.

You shared a post with a fake video added for shock value meant to drive culture war engagement.

Were 163 children rescued or were they not?

been trying to get more specifics on the case for awhile now. They're sparse.

I imagine this is because they're still investigating this network. If I had to guess

That still doesn't explain the problem in the story. The story takes the time to tell you that there are at least three categories of children involved in this particular coverage. This tells me that they simply must know at least the general breakdown between the three categories. Which makes the fact they didn't specify extremely fishy. I don't know how old you are but I'm reminded of other things the Press covered like this. Like when they refused to tell you how many straight up heterosexuals were getting AIDS. They always lump them in with intravenous drug users. I watched the reporter ask this like nine different ways and every single time they got the same answer. They also did this with kidnappings way back in the 80s during the kidnapping scare. They wanted you to believe children were being stripped off of street corners every 10 minutes. But they were including back then custody cases and Runaways also and you couldn't get them to tell you how many kids were just straight up kidnapped if you put a gun to their head

This is a common practice among less scrupulous so-called journalists.

That's actually a good question! Were they? Do you find the definition of rescue to apply equally to both finding a runaway and finding kids trapped in a dungeon?

This doesn't matter. 163 children were rescued in this operation. No matter what the circumstances are of them needing to be rescued, they were exploited. It makes exactly frick all difference if a child is a runaway or is kidnapped.

The drive some of you people have to minimize this shite because the children were "runaways" is actually fricking disgusting.

Any child trafficking case raises their Q antenna.

They have to resist.

Well running away and being kidnapped are separate things. And being kidnapped in a custody dispute is also different than sex trafficking.

The point is the 163 cases vary in nature and there aren't really enough details on each one.

And the video in the OP is AI or old footage put together to drive outrage and fear.

Oh come on it matters a lot. I'm a lot more concerned about random children being kidnapped and put in dungeons then about disagreements between mommy and daddy over who gets to have the kids

Exactly.

They do this every time, and the origination is almost always a dishonest online content creator (which we have here, which fooled OP into believing some of the children in this story were found with chains and in cages)

I thought it was, but it's real footage from unrelated stories that keep being recycled by dishonest online content creators.

BoarEd fell for the dishonesty completely, too. Sad.

I'm not minimizing jack shite. If somebody kidnaps a child and sticks them in the basement Behind Bars you can do whatever punishment you can even contemplate and I will support you 100%. But if you want to do the same thing to Daddy or Mommy because they can't fricking agree with what the judge says you're out your God damn mind. So quite obviously we're talking about different things. You'll refusal to acknowledge this seems a little silly

Obviously kidnapping children is abhorrent. It should see you drawn and quartered on the town square. But at the same time, exploiting a child who ran away from home is also abhorrent. It is alarming that you people don't seem to understand that. At the end of the day law enforcement had to rescue those children.

You realize you keep adding in exploitation without evidence, right?

Not all runaways are exploited.
