Do y’all really think tariffs are the end game? You all root for sanctions all the time. Why? Because you want these countries to feel squeezed if they don’t do what is in the interest of the USA. Why do you differ on tariffs? Oh that’s right...TDS.

Upside?

1. People will buy another car, made in America, by an American worker. Sounds good to me. You?

Y'all have lost your minds again. You should probably read the entire article first before assuming you understand what it meant.

"Moody’s Investors Service this week downgraded Ford’s credit rating to a step removed from junk, citing risks associated with a turnaround effort that Chief Executive Officer Jim Hackett has warned could cost $11 billion and take years. While analysts have warned that the company’s dividend may need to be cut, senior executives have maintained that it’s not at risk.

Last month, Ford’s stock dipped below $10 for the first time in almost six years. The shares dropped another 2.3 percent Friday to $9.48."

Seems as though this is really bad for an American company

You really are lying about being a lawyer. You must be a paralegal at best because you're not very bright. The tariffs have done nothing but harm American workers overall.

Or they'll buy a cheaper and more dependable used foreign car instead of paying Trumps new tax

There are four-ish groups of losers here:
1) American consumers who now have less choices (and higher prices)
2) Ford
3) Dealerships who sell Ford products
4) Chinese manufacturing company that creates this product

Most of the losers seem to be Americans

Jesus. Way to slam thousands of hard working paralegals. What a douche. Typical leftist.

There you go being shortsighted. You think tariffs are the end game. Talk about not bright.

So, not tarrifs. Got it.

Six years? Thanks Obama.

That's a nice free market you have there. Sure would be a shame if something where to happen to it.

Build it in the USA. AMERICA FIRST!
they arent building it in the USA, they're not moving the production from China to the US (at least according to the article you linked), they're just changing plans and not importing a car that already exists.

this does nothing but hurt Ford.

BMY you aren’t doing well? Ford will be ok, they’ll make a few different business decisions and they’ll make more money making cars here. Trump loves America and will do whatever it takes to put America 1st regardless of what you and a bunch of globalists think.

I’ve imported industrial chemicals from China before. They are the ultimate bait and switch business people. We finally have a president who see through their BS and is calling them out on it. Our spineless leadership in the past 20 years have made America weaker and forced American companies to make poor business decisions. This is going to change. I hope you are able to enjoy the success of these decisions.

So the results are

1. Americans won’t get another affordable option on this car

2. Ford sales will be impacted

3. No net benefit to the US as they wont build it here

4. Hurts Chinese workers

Depends on your philosophy I guess, do you believe it is in the governments best interest to promote miniscule savings over a revival of our manufacturing capacity?

Forget which party is in power this second and answer this for yourself.

Not as well as I was doing during Obamas last year. Not Trumps fault, though. Rising prices and soaring cost of living in my area has rocketed past wage growth.

My bills (with no significant change in lifestyle and no new debt) have increased around 3k a year lately and that is prior to these tariffs/taxes.

Southern cities were booming well before Trump took office and that comes with an increase in prices.. and a few painful years for non-homeowners.
