“Simple question: Do you stand by that statement?”

Explain, please? The democrats control language, and because of that, it is VERY important for conservatives to define these terms that they espouse. Maxine Waters is a socialist. The only reason she does not embrace that label is that liberals have not yet softened the toxicity of the term socialist. More than 1/2 of democrats support socialism in some form or fashion. Half of democratic voters have an unfavorable opinion of capitalism. They just use stupid euphemisms like the "Green New Deal" or "Medicare for All" to make their overall plans more palatable.
And they are simply defined as "democrats" whereas republicans aren't defined as "far-right" or "extreme". So, while there is some political theatre to this, this is one of the most important things Rs can do, at the moment.
