I've been on the change bandwagon for years, with the caveat that it's changed to Robert Barrow Drive...

and for those of you who don't know, General Robert Barrow was a LSU Graduate and Commandant of the Marine Corps...

Veterans Drive is a bit too wishy-washy for my taste...

Damn it. How do you pronounce that by the way is it “som?” Or “summay”? You can tell I didn’t go to school there

But he might have said something offensive or that will BE considered offensive at some point in the future. Best not risk it.

Heck, I am surprised they even stuck with Veterans drive and not Kaitlyn Jennings Drive or some such.

John Archer Lejeune attended LSU before his appointment to the USNA.

Mostly pronounced like "Sims". He was my ex-wife's great-great-great grandfather.

Does that Street run close to the bell tower and LSU’s Wintertime Holiday Tree?

To move away from Leathernecks for a moment, Gen Blackshear Bryan of Alexandria was superintendent of West Point. Here he is on the What's My Line TV show in 1955.

Why change Gov. Claiborne’s street?

This stuff is so stupid.

Yet they are conveniently leaving out that Raphael Semmes was a professor at LSU after the war. It's just more political correctness cleansing. This is how things got started at Ole Miss and ended with their mascot now being a black bear or landshark or whatever. They still can't make up their minds, because their identity has been erased. It probably won't stop here at LSU with this one street name. Look for buildings to be next, Mike the Tiger, the Fighting Tigers, and so on.
