re: Louisiana Senator and anti-vaxer

The anti vaxxers aren’t the issue. It wouldn’t be a problem without the illegals. And we would still have outbreaks even if everyone was vaccinated except the illegals. Vaccines are only 85-90% effective. Meaning 10-15% would still be susceptible to the illnesses. You can’t protect those people except by removing the threat

Can we deport the anti-vaxxers with the illegals?

Sen. John Milkovich, a Keithville Democrat, assailed vaccines Monday on the Senate floor as unsafe, repeating claims that studies have discredited.
I have found our problem
This stupidity is not limited to the Dems
In fact, sadly most of the anti-vaccines politicians recently have been republicans.

The worst part is people call them "anti" vaccinations. This is mostly false. Most just want proper safety testing and cleaner vaccines w/out the toxic adjuvants and preservatives
There are just as many of these substances in your kids breakfast foods, and often at significantly lower levels than in modern vaccines.

the anti-vaccines politicians
Again, it seems to me that YOU can control what YOU do. YOU can control what YOUR risks are. If YOU are concerned about contracting a disease for which YOU can be vaccinated, then YOU should ensure YOU are up to date on YOUR vaccinations.

Nope. Not casting too wide a net.
Vaccines have saved and continue to save literally millions of lives.
Some are too young or have other medical issues that prevent them from being vaccinated. Your selfish arse refusing to get them because of some bogus boogey man puts them at risk. And you do it intentionally
If you don’t vaccinated without a legitimate medical excuse, you are the equivalent of a bioterrorist and should be treated as such.
Period.

The anti vaxxers aren’t the issue.
They are definitely the issue. We live in this world together. The more targets a virus or a bacterium have, the more likely they are to do a “work around” adaptation to get to those who vaccinate. The only way to be entirely free of them is to drive them into extinction.
We had done just that with measles and bovine TB in this country, for example. Both have surged back as public health concerns because of the invasion of illegal aliens across our southern border.
When the vaccine revolution of the 20th century wiped major communicable diseases off the front pages of America’s newspapers, complacency set in. Then some idiots decided that autism was caused by vaccinations.
There were no major diseases circulating in the country, so the uneducated American public bought in thinking, “Well, what do vaccines really do? Nobody gets these diseases the vaccines are supposed to protect us from. Vaccines must cause autism. They have to do something, amirite?”
These same idiots can’t make the association between illegal aliens and the diseases they bring with them. They don’t understand that one of the main necessities for screening immigrants is to make sure that those who are sick are held back until they become well.

You seriously don’t understand how diseases work.
Posted on 5/1/19 at 10:52 am to NC_Tigah
Because the effectiveness of vaccines is enhanced by a population where as many as possible vaccinate.
Just because your vaccinated doesn't mean immunity. It just makes it harder. And if a disease has a host near that it can easily latch to it will have more chances to repeatedly attack a vaccinated person. And will eventually overwhelm if given the opportunity.

I'm assuming that, because it would be beyond ignorant if such personalization actually was your intent.

This is the Poli Board.
Don’t blame the poster you responded to because YOU were too dumb to check this Senator’s party affiliation before posting what you assumed would be some sort of gotcha.

For the record, the political affiliation for anti-vaxers is mixed. At 1st, it was the left pushing it. Now, it's the alt-right to protect religious liberties.
Now that’s what I call a strategic retreat.

Just because your vaccinated doesn't mean immunity.
There is a spectrum of cause in terms of ineffectiveness. A significant element in the spectrum is loss of vaccine-conferred immunity over time. That is a personally controllable issue. Requisite vaccination for all immigrants is, likewise, completely controllable. Both are nearly unconsidered in arguments for forced vaccination of reticent parties. Before impacting other citizens' rights, it seems we should do all we ourselves can.
