I just saw this video from a Senate Committee Meeting. Family Courts seem out of control. Start watching at 3 hours and 48 minutes: Is anybody going to reform the courts?

How about a little more information about what we would potentially be viewing?

I’d guess cultural fatigue is setting in.

Its these crying parents because judges seem to be placing children with abusers. What is going on? I heard someone saying they thought it is a money racket. Did I hear about a case like this in West Feliciana recently?

Don’t worry, a committee is looking into the committee. I know they’ll straighten things out short order.

That video is from last year. It doesn't seem like anyone is doing anything. These Family Court people seem extremely cruel and sadistic.
Do you know what they are going to do?

My post was facetious. A committee looking into a committee in government should never be taken seriously.

Oh. Its such a serious topic with true human suffering, children being raped and all, I didn't realize you were making a joke. What a sad state this is.

Ouch…. No one is for human suffering or children getting raped. Just an observation that committees looking into committees is a joke in and of itself. Take it easy.

Not watching 30 minutes of video. At what point does the purported abuser testify before the committee? Would be nice to hear from both parties.

No offence but if you cannot see there serious issues in our courts, you truly lack compassion and humanity. Honestly your response illustrates very disturbing qualities. No wonder things like this go in this state if this is the way citizens are here.

What? That the trier of fact examines evidence presented by both sides and then makes a decision. Yeah. That’s grave injustice. SMH.

There are serious concerns about the integrity of the "trier" of fact in many instances, especially in family courts. Clearly you know everything.

Yeah, everyone who loses a case echoes these concerns (rolling eyes).

I guess you didn't watch the video... Like children who's custody is given to abusers and pedos? I thought family court was not about "winning" and "losing", especially for children. Read the paper... Things seem very wrong over there.

Of course it’s about winning and losing. That’s how an adversarial legal system works, you twit. If the woman’s case was so open and shut, then the Col. Sanders lawyer sitting in the background must have done a really shitty job. And no, I am not going to sit through a fricking video to try to glean an argument that you lack the mental capacity to articulate yourself.

Since you are not willing to review any material, your opinion has no value because you are choosing to be ignorant on this subject.

I watched some of the video linked. It was nothing more than one party regurgitating the same story that no doubt was presented in court, but without the other party having the chance for rebuttal or to present his own story. Yes, when you only hear one side, the optics are bad for the other side. Too bad you’re not intelligent enough to realize that.

I have knowledge of the Livingston Parish courthouse being a pretty wretched hive of good ol’ baw scum and one particular villain politician. Justice for the kids is simply who wins the race to consult or retain that single particular lawyer in LP, because he was able to get a family court created in LP, and then one of his associates became one of the two sitting judges. They made national news in 2020 for the racket they’re running out there. The entire parish knows about their connection. Still, nobody does anything about it. LP remains a stereotypical place.
