Vitter would have been a great governor for Louisiana.

You have anything to back this up? Or just a hunch?
The Right To Carry (RTC) is constantly under attack because it works, goooooooooooooooooooooooooberment knows it, and understands it changes their attitude towards their MASTER!!
"My reading is that RTC has probably lowered violent crime somewhat, but not in a terribly consistent manner. That really is enough of a result to conclude that Lott’s analysis has largely held up under these criticisms. There are not many policy studies that would hold up as well under such a sustained attack."

It wasn't that he saw a hooker.
It was that he ran as a "family values" guy and shoved his family and the church in our faces on a constant basis... while seeing a hooker. Add to the fact he is a pretty horrible person to work with, absolutely no one can work with him.
No doubt he is smart and no doubt he has great ideas. But even if he were elected, I have serious doubts if he would have been able to work with the legislature to actually get anything accomplished.
Remember, the legislature has a lot invested in keeping the status quo.
