The fact that you can’t buy alcohol on election day in Mississippi is a tell-tale.

Drinking a beer bought 2 hours ago. What are you talking about? The old Blue Laws where liquor stores couldn't open on election day?

Umm, this isn’t true - bought a big bottle of Tito’s earlier this evening.

You can now buy liquor too both laws was done away with that one too years ago.. Google it

Wtf is going on in MS. KY closed polls just over an hour ago and is about to call the race, MS results haven't even begun coming in yet.

I worked in a town of close to 30K people in Texas a couple years ago that didn’t sell liquor, smoking was allowed inside most establishments and bars all closed at midnight except on Saturdays when they could stay open until 1.

Had to drive 20 miles or so to get to the closest liquor store.

In Rankin County, Mississippi you can not buy alcohol on election day.

Local option. Each municipality and county can decide what they want.
