It’s just a word.

It’s an insult. It’s derogatory.

It’s just a word.

Let’s even say it’s racist.
So what.
Racist isn’t in the top 10 bad things a person can be…this has gotten so far from common sense and any grounding in reality.

It’s a power source for a minority to neutralize a majority.

Come n man. That white trash woman should not be celebrated.

I don't care if she said the N word. Big deal. I've said it as well.

It’s an ugly word that reveals an ugliness inside the person who says it.

It’s a pushback.

People are sick of the double standard and this reverence for one race that gets so much leeway for bad behavior.

Grrrl, it’s just a word.

I don’t use it. Not because I think it’s some one way ticket to hell.
But instead, because it doesn’t align with the way I speak.

It does lessen the user by giving the appearance of some toothless, uneducated meth maker.

I don’t agree with white guilt or any other type of programming. I understand it’s just a word. I don’t think anyone should be killed or arrested for it. But if someone got their arse whipped for saying it to someone I’d 100% think they had it coming. I find the word and people who use it repulsive.

No, people shouldn’t be assaulted for words.

That said, this started after she berated a special needs 5-year-old. That’s the bigger issue here, not the n-word.

I don't care about the N word. Hell i call one of my cats the N word.

That doesn't change that she's white trash.

And don't call me a racist; I dislike everyone equally.

What word starts with N and ends with R that you never want to use to describe a black person?

Neighbor

Shouldn’t be, but fights start over words more than anything else.
It is a very real thing.

Nothing you said was racist. I laughed at your comment about the cat.

How about people don't get their lives destroyed if they do in a moment of anger while others are entirely free of consequence from producing the same sequence of acoustic waves?

Or does your ethical calculation not extend beyond the first in a series of events?

Well lets look at it today, the word is thrown around 5 times a second in rap songs.

If I catch an uber, I probably hear it 40 times before I get out of the car.

It's simply, if you think the word is so offensive that you would ruin someones life over it, then you can't use it either.

Then you need to ruin the lives of your own rappers and kids who idolize them as well.

How is this considered discussion-worthy in the year 2025?

Seriously, if this is what has caused you offense today, consider yourself lucky.

Oh... This statement is very rich, coming from a liberal.

I agree. I was being more idealistic than realistic.

This. Whenever I hear derogatory terms for white people, I laugh. There was a story a couple years ago about some black student group at some college some of their meeting notes were leaked and they had a list of derogatory terms for white people. I was cracking up. Bleach Demon was my favorite.
