quote:If it was 95+% of the studies would show it. They don’t. You should go take a quantitative analysis class. Let us know how the professor responds when you get half of your experiments to match.
quote:It does not make them repeatableThis is also false.
quote:The studies suggest there may be one. May be can mean is, or is not. We’re not sure yet.
quote:Theres been a lot in this thread trying to convert a maybe into an absolute certaintyExactly. Like "doctors" acting like there's no correlation when studies show there is
Again you apparently don’t know anything about data analysis.

This is going to be good.

"So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous - whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful light," [turning to Dr Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response co-ordinator], "and I think you said that hasn't been checked but you're going to test it. "And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside of the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you're going to test that too. Sounds interesting,"

I own a small portable sawmill. Paid a little over 12K for it. So far I have cut around 2000 Board Feet of lumber to use on my farm from trees cut here on the farm. Had I purchase that lumber, it would have cost me $4000 or so.
If I told you that my sawmill was going to pay for itself, you'd think it was gonna cut me a check wouldn't you.

I mean, look at his posts. He’s emotionally labile and easily triggered. Best to leave the simpletons alone imo.

First, you said he didn’t say it. Now you said it was just a joke.

7.775 on the mental gymnastics to rationalize what he said.

If youre claiming that quote is Trump telling people to inject bleach you are a complete moron.
And yes. You’re biased.

quote:Sorry. I expect others to have common sense, my mistake. How about this "The words he said were not meant to be taken literally". Is that better than "he didn't say it"? I mean, when I tell you to go frick yourself are you going to contort your body in such a way to actually do that? Even though i said the words, I did not mean for you to actually try to engage in fricking yourself.
First, you said he didn’t say it. Now you said it was just a joke.

The Harvard study that the White House cited is a meta analysis that showed a relationship when Tylenol was taken for FOUR WEEKS or more. That’s not popping a couple Tylenol because you have a headache.

He said those things with 100% seriousness. It’s OK to admit that he made a blunder in those statements.

quote:Perhaps so. But there are currently FAR too many examples to the contrary.
there are ample ethical scientists and researchers out there doing very good
You're right, the Wakefield autism "study" was horrible.
However, there are piles of "studies" funded by Climate Change zealots run by Climate Change activists masquerading as scientists who are every bit as bad as Wakefield. The same was true during Ebola and Covid. The damage is immense and inexcusable.
I find this FDA letter well done in that it points out concerns without overriding assumptions. It is what science should be.

Idk man, you’re the one bragging about how bad arse you are for killing your own horse (I understand it was necessary FTR), but then shaming someone who is taking their dog to the vet to have them humanely euthanized. Thought you were just easily triggered. Apparently you’re just an angry little guy.

quote:FWIW, Trump never proposed injecting bleach or disinfectant. He was referring to respiratory treatment of equipment and/or intubated exchange gases, and in some cases, the pulmonary tract.
Trump said that a disease could be cured by injecting some sort of “disinfectant… like an injection inside the body …like a cleaning” or “ hitting the body with some tremendous light or ultraviolet light”, Republicans (especially MAGA’s) would empty the shelves of bleach and Lysol and ultraviolet and fluorescent lightbulbs.
At the time, outcomes of mechanically ventilated CV19 patients were terrible, unexpectedly so. Scientists were considering options to alter that. Misted hypochlorous acid (not bleach) was a disinfectant being considered. Ultraviolet light was also being considered in various ventilatory applications.
The "inject bleach" meme was an extraordinarily stupid take on Trump's comments.

So at best this should have a release by the FDA on the studies with a recommendation to avoid use during pregnancy with commentary about additional research being planned.
