First, you can not hold a person accountable for past actions when the laws and social acceptable things change.

You can not decide that all drivers can no longer drive a red car and apply that retro actively.

Having said that, the history of this nation is what it is and what was acceptable in 1700s may not be today.

For example, age of consent. Today, its 16 -18 depending on the state.

In the 1800s, it was.... 10-16. That is not a typo. TEN... In fact, it was 10 or 12 in MOST states except for Delaware. It was..... (sit down...) SEVEN.

As to men being with younger women. This happened all overbthe USA. Why??? WAR.

Starting with the civil war, the south lost 650,000 men aged in the teens through 20s. The South was devastated financially. That set the stage for younger women marrying older men. President Cleveland is an example of that. Married a 22 year old and he was 27 years older.

Less than 60s latter. WWI. 30 years later.... WWII. All men from 18 to 30 and we lost a lot.

So I guess the Muslims are right when they say they had a hand in the founding of America.

So if I stole your car but you didn't say anything immediately and then 20 years later were able to prove it or at least come forward about it and I was running for an elected position do you think it is any less of a crime?

It is both sad and entertaining to watch right-wingers eat their own morals based on getting elected official that they feel represents them in there. Keep moving those goal posts buddy

It is interesting watching them paint themselves into a corner.

First it was: no banging 14 year olds! This is understandable, in America it isn't legal, although it is legal in most of Europe. I don't know ow how they feel about it.

Then when the 14 year old girl's story fell apart it switched to: no banging 16-17 year olds! This is somewhat understandable since about 10 states still have an 18 limit and federal law uses 18 for pornography, lots of people think 18 is the magic number.

Then when people realized it is perfect legal to have sex with 16-18 year olds depending on the state it turn to: no banging teenagers 16-19 even if legal because it is CREEPY!

My guess is these are either dudes who married the first girl they had sex with and have no idea what it is like to bang a young fit college freshman or these are dudes who have daughters and they can't have this conversation without imagining some guy plowing their little princess when she is of legal age.

Understandable, but don't force your personal issues on the rest of us.

You're right. I went a little over the top on this one. I just assumed that the proximity of this to all the accusations about more and the fact that you're usually spewing a bunch of right-wing garbage to mean this was about creating acceptance for creepy old-timers like Moore
