See those “quotes” around “federal”? I assumed everyone was picking up what I was putting down.
Point still stands. No dual citizens should be employed by the United States Federal Reserve.

No worries, the clarification wasn't directed at you. That's for the folks who know all the words to "Rocky Top".

I’ll play devils advocate here then. Why do you need them then? Why not give them up since you don’t use them?
Why give them up? It gives me option if I decide to live in Europe, I can! Or Mexico, or if I want to start a specific business in either country, I can!
Only a fool in my opinion would give up other citizenships!

You're a US citizen because of LEGAL migration. Living here 41 years means nothing if you came illegally.

So you want all the benefits of an American and want advantages of another country, honestly nobody can trust you or your loyalty to the country.
If Mexico invades the us and it’s an all out war who side are you on? Honestly your answer carries zero weight because you are so adamant about playing I’m a proud American but why would I not keep all these passports cause America isn’t good enough you can’t get it done here? If your opportunities at starting something in Mexico or Spain were so fricking great your grandparents and parents wouldn’t have done everything to get here.

I am a dual citizen. Born in Canada to American parents. I am also eligible for German citizenship; just working on the paperwork for it.
Just make sure when the paperwork is done you go to wherever you choose and stay. If you want German citizenship so bad move to Germany and live in New Bagdad.

Back when there was a military draft, the draft board had a lot to do with dual-citizen guys making a decision on loyalty. When pre-induction letters started coming, some guys would drop the US citizenship. I knew a guy who had US and Mex citizenships. He was smart enough to delay a decision until after the physical which he flunked.

So, you are willing to put the country in a compromised position because you might personally benefit from it in the future.
That's a surefire way to build a strong country.

If you Italian and can establish your heritage back to the relative who immigrated off the boat, then you can establish as an Italian Citizen. You can then move about through all of the EU countries without any hassle.

You literally cannot end dual citizenship. For example, if someone's parent is from Germany and the other is American, they are legally dual citizens under German law. Even if they renounce this status, German law grants them this status - along with significant benefits. The same is true of many other countries.
Be as annoyed as you like, but you cannot do anything about it.
(I am only a US citizen and happy about that fact.)

I'm in no rush to get the paperwork finished. The main reason I looked into it was for vacation travel in the EU. But we have no plans to visit Europe any time soon, let them fix some shite first. We're happy right where we are in sunny North Carolina.

It’s always a hassle to travel in Europe and dual citizenship doesn’t do much.

f you have business in Europe, it could be helpful since you’d travel there a lot. Otherwise, it’s nonsense.

Also, there was rumor years ago that Italy was trying to lure in wealthy Americans with this non sense and then they were going to hit them with a tax for not just earnings in Italy but in the US too. Talk about a double tax!
It hasn’t happened but there was talk about it.

quote:Sounds like you should mind your own business instead of monitoring the rational option-keeping of other citizens. You can't imagine a world in which an American pursues a foreign business opportunity? In your world, that implies "America isn't good enough you can't get it done here"?

quote:American military officers, before they are commissioned, are required to have only a USA citizenship.
Let's end dual citizenship
Why?
You dont want anyone responsible for any aspect of American government to have mixed loyalties.
none! as opposed to the flood of dual citizens that just perpetrated crimes against us - and have always perpetrated crimes against us

If my aunt had nuts she would be my uncle!!
Spoken like a true ignorant person!!
My family in Mexico made it pretty good to the point that we own a multinational corp started in Mexico!
I didn’t come to the US to flee Mexico, we came because we could and we stayed because we liked it!
If the US went to war with Mexico I would defend the US, so STFU
