Democrat Socialists(and I repeat myself) are deadly afraid of Trump's nominee for the Federal Reserve Board. Stephen Moore does not fit their agenda of socialism. He want to keep the economy humming. The Dems want to crash it before the election. America, it's your choice!

He needs to issue an Executive Order to dismantle the FED and restore the purse back to it's rightful place with the Treasury Department tied to the gold standard. Reset things.

I do not disagree, but there are a number of actions that could be taken to ensure long-term economic health that would also result in short-term disaster.
There is absolutely no way to ensure stability and growth over a number of decades without taking a hit, one way or another. Our cake is either for consumption, or for viewing.

This would absolutely kill American exports and thus cripple the economy as imports would be astronomically cheaper. Even if you passed laws making tariffs balance out prices domestically, you still wouldn't be able to export crap (so it would be a band-aid on a chopped-off limb.
Any chance of tying the Dollar back to the price of gold left the moment the US became and remained a net importer instead of a net exporter.

This is how I see it. It all depends on your horizon. If you have children then you care about the future. If not then you can live only for today, do your drugs, etc. The tulips scam didn't end very well for folks, even a genius was taken in on the deal. Look it up. When the public looses faith in a currency, it bites the dirt. Check out the german mark back a few years. The history is that when a currency dies, so does the empire. Facts are a nagging bitch!

Can't tell anyone about your plan to end the fed or else they will JFK you.
End it on a Friday afternoon at 5pm EST with the stroke of a pen.
Once it is done, they can't do anything to prevent it.

Btw, to those that are interested in the economy like I do, here's something to ponder. The world economy is floundering according to the IMF. The Baltic Dry Index is down 27% from last year. Quite a few western countries are looking at negative IRs because their economies are stagnant at best. Italy is considering leaving the EU and NATO to try and save itself....just a few items to ponder this Sunday.

Japan has found out too late to turn back from negative rates and printing monopoly money. China is about to find out also. Last month or the one before, China injected 600 billion DOLLARS worth yuan in one month to save the failing factories there that should be allowed to fail. But the social/political outcome scares the Chicom govt. too much. Tick tock!
