I recently found out you can. There are two islands between Alaska and Russia. The larger one to the west belongs to Russia and it has an airstrip built during the Cold War.
The smaller one to the east. It belongs to Alaska but is inhabited only by natives. On a clear day those people can see Russia from their western shore.
