Zapruder was on the knoll. He thought the shot might’ve come from behind him because of the reaction of JFK’s head at impact. The physics of reaction at impact - and of forward motion - are known, and that forward motion was a focus point of the WC.

Also you can see in one of the videos 60 to hundred people running towards the grassy knoll and towards the fence area seconds after the shot because that is where a lot heard the shot come from.
Don't take my word for it take the hundreds of witnesses that said exactly what I just said where the shots came from. Somehow none of them testified in front of the Warren Commission after they told the FBI what they heard. The FBI said none of those witnesses were reliable.
So whatever the evidence the Warren Commission has fed you came from the FBI or CIA.
