And tracer rounds wouldn't ignite jet fuel.

As an ex fueler in the USAF, this gentleman is correct. Jet fuel has a very high flash point. Much like diesel. Matter of fact, when in Germany we pumped JP8 into our diesel tanks. You can put a cigarette out in it. Even a match can be extinguished. Little old bullet wouldn't do a thing.

What if he'd put tannanite on the containers?

We kinda covered that last night amid suspicions of additional shooters/conspirators.

I posited that the 50lbs Tannerite in the car might have been intended for placement on/near the tanks.

edit: I posted on what I thought I remembered about tannerite. I went and redid my research on it and not quite sure what would happen if it was put near the fuel tanks.

Sorry. Wasn't in that thread. So, it might have caused a distraction?

Sauce is wrong.

Tanks were hit because shooter was spraying bullets.

Should read the "Notable Incidents" section on Wikipedia: Tannerite.

100lbs blew up a dump truck (blast felt 5 miles away), and a Border Patrol Agent started a 46,000 acre brushfire while target shooting (appropriate usage of tannerite).

So 50lbs against or near a fuel storage tank would potentially cause a very fiery explosion.

The guy would have used tracer rounds

700 yards with an AR-15 trying to shoot through a fuel tank??... but yet this guy was a mastermind at planning and gun skills?? It’s either or right there bc both of those statements don’t match up to each other.

I think he also had an AR10 which is a .308. That would go 700 yards easily. Not sure how thick the tank walls are tho...
