They’d rather have that bum be AD than actually have a top program at LSU.

And you think Jeff Landry, and what he’s said very publicly this week, is going to help facilitate that?

Aren't you Louisiana baws basically still paying for Ed Orgeron? Now Brian Kelly too?

How the hell is it so hard to hire a stellar coach at a flagship university surrounded by the most prime recruiting grounds on the planet?

Donors pay it. It’s not paid by the University. No public funds.

Technically the state is the ultimate guarantor of the contract but everyone except for Landry knows that there is a zero chance that the state will ever have to pay anything.

Correct. And his outrage is over a situation where he saw the opposite happen. And he accidentally admitted that he knew that ahead of time when he hosted a meeting at the LA gov mansion.

If you look at this from a political standpoint it’s really a shame.

He’s a Republican in a Republican state. It’s a self inflicted wound. He put himself on the wrong side of a 90/10 issue. He did it publicly. And he has publicly doubled down.

The worst hasn’t hit him yet.
