It's possible the GJ has already returned indictments in a particular matter(s) and the unsealing of the indictment(s) is upcoming. That's done for any number of strategic purposes.
quote:
A former FBI attorney is preparing to plead guilty to altering an email used to obtain a surveillance warrant on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page, producing the first concrete results of a review Attorney General William Barr ordered into the FBI’s handling of the investigation into contacts between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.
The former FBI attorney, Kevin Clinesmith, will plead to a single felony count of making a false statement, though his lawyer said it was not his intent to mislead the court that approved the original warrant in 2016 and three renewals in 2017.
“Kevin deeply regrets having altered the email. It was never his intent to mislead the court or his colleagues as he believed the information he relayed was accurate,” Clinesmith’s lawyer Justin Shur said in a statement. “But Kevin understands what he did was wrong and accepts responsibility.”
The altered email was among the explosive findings in Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s review of the FBI’s handling of the surveillance warrant against Page. He also found the warrant and three renewals were riddled with errors and omissions, some of them significant.

These mistakes seem to only go one way....hmmmm
His lawyer makes it sound like he's not going to squeal on anyone.

I’m sure he will be along shortly to explain how Clinesmith out foxed Durham.
Clinesmith can either help himself by cooperating and have the government recommend the lower end of the sentencing range, perhaps even no jail time -or- if not then the government has quite the knack for loading up the sentencing recommendation with aggravating factors that would result in a sentence toward the high end, up to the maximum, and that's not uncommon.
I can only assume that he's the kind of fella who would not handle a 5 year sentence very well. No doubt he's highly motivated and will cooperate as much as humanly possible to avoid the government's wrath in the sentencing process.

Yeah, it seems like they want it to appear as if he sang like a canary while skating him to 2 mos jail time in a 5 year sentence?
Silly thought but doesn't the govt & Durham know who ordered/approved Clinesmith's omissions that Carter Page was a CIA spook (as said in the IG report) So honest Bob has some splainin to do as well...
They have the documentation, texts, emails...

I'm sure they have all his texts and emails...not sure if anything damning is in them regarding the changing....
There's just no way he did this on his own...others had to KNOW or tell him to do it...
Did you see my thread about what sundance found in the mueller report...covering themselves in case Clinesmith was caught?
make perfect freaking sense....that's why Weissman was chirping yesterday.
Also, Sundance moved his release date from Today to Tuesday....because he was asked by whomever he's in touch with....makes me wonder if Mon/Tuesday we'll see more

Oh, isn't this rich? After contributing to the Q thread for a solid year, you proceeded to become the biggest Q-harrasser on this site.
Seriously, how many of my non-Q threads have you hijacked? Girl, you even hijacked a thread I started about the danger that an active volcano in Yellowstone National Park presented for the Western half of the United States. Do you deny doing that? You're the #1 troublemaker regarding all things Q. You're the one who gets off on harassing people about Q, honey. What an incredible lie for you to try and place that at my feet.
PS - Sad to hear that you need a lawyer to defend you on an anonymous message board. Are you really that intimidated by someone who tries to engage you with facts?

Finally getting it, huh? You said last night you would eat crow if Durham gets a second person.
Are you going to keep your word on that?

This makes no sense. If it’s a “mistake”, there’s nothing else that can come of this.
Can’t be an informant on a “mistake”.
And why agree to the plea if he’s not providing substantive info?
That’s a huge dichotomy. Can’t be a mistake and informant.

He can say he simply relied upon information provided to him by another person or persons, and he didn't know it was tainted info.
But just because he claims it was a mistake doesn't necessarily mean the government believes that, and that the govt has the goods to prove it. In fact, the government definitely does fully believe it has the goods to prove the crime, or else they wouldn't have charged him with it.

Can we revisit who it was that told us a grand jury was empaneled? So we know to never listen to them again.
Poli board lawyers please explain "Criminal Information with no grand jury"
1.--there are likely more than one GJ looking at this whole shite show, there is zero doubt about that.
That does not always mean that they will indict anyone, but that would be a rare occurrence..
2.--it means his lawyer approached the DOJ and worked a trade..

If Clinesmith did fold on everyone, it will be interesting to see how many dominoes fall. Hopefully it doesn’t stop with Comey.

I think if it gets to McCabe it goes to the top.
